Claims Processing Team Supervisor

Location: Whitby, On, Canada

We are seeking a Claim Processing Team Supervisor to join our Claim Processing team. 

Summary

The Claim Processing Supervisor will support  data entry and adjudication of incoming claims to improve the efficiency of operations and drive success.  Processing Supervisors work with their teams to create an energetic, enjoyable, and productive work environment for the entire team, while measuring & maintaining productivity & quality goals.
 

Responsibilities

  • Reviews Success metrics and individual statistics to achieve specified targets (quality metrics, productivity, etc.) assisting with workload (including but not limited to entry and adjudication, etc.) as required.
  • Analyze and compile reports to document team service level agreement to articulate and determine any training needs, resource requirements or process improvements to ensure the team is operating optimally and at pre-determined targets.  
  • Work directly with and be accountable for 15-25 direct team members that will provide Claim entry, claim processing, and other support as required to the business unit
  • Provides guidance, motivation and performance reviews on an ongoing basis including team time management, scheduling, identifying training requirements and achieving goals to increase performance and to maintain and enhance competency levels.
  • Use extensive expertise, client policy and procedure knowledge to foresee potential concerns and find sustainable resolutions.  Investigate areas of operational improvement and share development solutions with team.
  • Motivate and support all team members to build job satisfaction and improve operational functioning ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and complies with standards as well as best working practices

Skills and Experience

  • Proven communication skills – written and verbal
  • Requires strong leadership style interpersonal skills to resolve situations with team members where there may be some level of conflict, stress or uncertainty
  • A quality-first mentality and understanding of process oriented workflow
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products having strong documentation skills
  • Proven ability to build team relationships
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage team schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to mine valuable feedback and provide practical solution options based on that feedback
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions.  Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
  • Provides solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required.
  • Experience with quality management standard and best practices
  • Background in a software company, or a natural comfort with software applications an asset
