Business Development Manager

Location: Whitby, On, Canada
The Business Development team drives team revenue’s top of the funnel new business growth in their assigned territory in four ways: 
  1. qualifying the account using BANT methodology
  2. accelerating existing pipeline
  3. nurturing target persona that are not ready to engage in a buy cycle today
  4. performing research to develop new account insights.
  
The Business Development Manager is Expected to Perform the Following Duties:
 
  • Maintain high weekly activity including cold calling, email prospecting, and social sellling.
  • Develop insights into your target verticals and what challenges channel managers are struggling with today
  • Learn to speak their language and feel empathy
  • Create an online persona and develop your professional brand to tell an authentic story
  • Create laser focused campaigns aimed at delivering education to accounts at a 1:1 scale
  • Unleash fun and creative three dimensional mailers and out of the box tactics to entice our prospects to commit to taking action
  • Use sophisticated business development tools such as Post Beyond, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Vidyard and others to drive engagement
  • Team with the vertical sales organization to ensure a smooth handoff of educated prospects that are ready to take the next step
  • Team with marketing to provide feedback on required content, campaign performance and vertical insights
  
Goals and Measurement:
  • Build and manage deep intelligence on the buyers within the target accounts in your verticals
  • Identify and create advocates of technology based channel marketers within your target accounts
  • Drive a consistent and predictable run rate of sales ready buyers against a target of SQLs and supported Deal Closes
  
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years in SaaS or BPO business development in a sales, marketing or client services capacity
  • Strong communication and written skills over phone and email
  • Comfortable with engaging prospects from first touch to first call
  • Uses technology like it’s an extension of your body – we are a Salesforce.com shop and will be adding on many online tools as we go
  • Understands the role of social media for selling and is not afraid to put it out there
  • Embraces the “challenger” sales model:  teach, tailor and take control
  • This role has minimal travel (<10%) and is based in our head office in Whitby, ON with flexibility to work remotely part time
