Scrum Master

Location: Whitby, Ontario, Canada

We’re looking for a Scrum Master to join our Development Team and help us take things to the next level.
 
Position Summary
 
We are looking for an Scrum Master who is a pragmatist and not a purist. An individual excited about helping our cross-functional teams to maximize their effectiveness and meet their commitments.
 
The Scrum Master will be working with multiple teams in a fast-paced environment. The Scrum Master should also be capable to coach team members in an Agile approach that works best for the team, and will be encouraging them to be self-organized. The Scrum Master will closely work with Product Owners to ensure development plans are aligned with the company’s product portfolio and executive initiatives.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Leading, arranging and facilitating Agile ceremonies.
  • Recommending and maintaining agile best practices document repository.
  • Enabling discussion and conflict resolution to improve team productivity while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Coaching team members as needed to optimize efficiency, and helping them to remove impediments.
  • Safeguarding transparency by ensuring daily tasks status are updated by team members.
  • Ensuring sprint backlog is prioritized and aligned with program roadmaps.
  • Protecting teams from distractions and help them to achieve commitments.
  • Producing agile metrics and providing context of metrics results.
 
Skills and Experience
 
  • CSM certificate or sufficient work experience to offset its absence.
  • 3+ years of experience in agile delivery / transformation / training / coaching.
  • Proven Experience coordinating multiple scrum teams in parallel.
  • Solid understanding of Agile principles and respect to its methodologies.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools including, but not limited to, JIRA Software, JIRA Service Desk, JIRA Portfolio, and Confluence.
  • Strong organizational change management orientation.
  • Energetic, positive, motivational leader and creative problem solver.
  • Great relationship management amongst teams and individuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
